Coach Vielma grew up in Nyssa, OR where he attended and graduated from Nyssa High School in 2008. During high school he was a 3 sport athlete and excelled in track and football. He was fortunate enough to have some success in track and football where he won state as a team in track and won back to back state championships in football. During his time in the football program he had a couple coaches who left a very big impact on him as a player and as a young adult, that is when he decided that he wanted to eventually get into coaching. He enjoys coaching because he loves to be able to help young men grow on and off the field the same way his coaches had done for him. Coach Vielma is currently going on year 2 of coaching here at Columbia high school. In year one of coaching at Columbia he was the assistant coach of the freshman team and this year he was grateful to be given the head coaching job of the JV team. He hopes to have many more seasons here at Columbia High School and is grateful for all the support the team receives and will continue to receive. Thank you!
